E. MARTIN PEDERSEN

Now

Cleopatra ordered me back to Cairo
"Get your ass,
back here. Now!"
she said
But I'm not going back to Cairo
ever again,
I don't care about the truth
or consequences.

Because I'm fifty years old
which means, which means
I can do, can do anything
anything I want, anything I please
Past the point of no return
New retune tune
No debt to my folks
I can be a bad boy
all I want.

Elizabeth Taylor had my number
"Get your ass back here. NOW!"
she implored
I kept walking and still haven't quit
I'm so far gone
nobody's stopping me
now.
