The Monastery

Little neighborhoods and you live past a trail to the monastery.

Monks operate a tannery – sell the same men's wallets.

Though you may phone monks regularly, monks prefer to text back

the town donated a sophisticated switchboard,
voicemail options depend on specific need – delivery, lost soul.

Only Tuesdays, different monks – tones consistent,
anxious, in a rush – answer on the first ring "Monastery Tannery,
what do you want?"
