KENNETH POBO
New
Incarnation
When I die I'm going to
return as Kim Kardashian's
left high heel. I'll be
on TV and people will
photograph and discuss me,
compare me to her
other heels. Fans
will remind each other
of when Kim dropped
an expensive earring
in the water, yes,
that was something.
This life I live now
where I run out
of bologna just when
I'm ready to make
a sandwich disappoints.
So, I wait for my new
and improved incarnation,
the spotlight
sizzling around me.
On the Night
A
kiss is like being
let into the Emerald City
only no wizard
gives orders. The pre-kiss
world huddles among
printers and passwords.
Magic
starts to snow
even though it is still warm.
Kenneth Pobo lives in Philadelphia.
His new chapbook, Lavender Fire,
Lavender Rose, has been published by BrickHouse Books. Recent
poems appear in Asheville Poetry
Journal, The Waxed Lemon, and Paris
Lit Up.
