NUALA WATT Confidence The goal is so often repeated that I arrive, hugging my knees in the curve of the C, like a monk's squiggle. One of the permanent dreams. An alphabet-agile child, I think I first got here by fever. Granite letters. The foolstop like a boulder. Do not leave. Nuala Watt is from Glasgow, Scotland. She was educated at the University of Glasgow and at the University of St. Andrews, and holds a PhD on vision and the role of partial sight in poetry. Her poems appeared in Magma, Gutter and Jacket2. Her chapbook titled Dialogue on the Dark was published by Calder Wood Press in 2015. She is a member of the Board of the Scottish Poetry Library. |
